Support Services
Computer Accounts
The UC Davis Computing Account Services is a website that allows student, faculty and staff member access to their UC computer accounts. From this site, users have the ability to apply for a UC Davis computing account, change or test their password, check the status of their account, Ethernet (NIC) card registration, change their directory information, add or remove account services, and redirect email addresses.
Project Management
The project management group is a unit within Application Development. Project managers use their knowledge and expertise to assist departments in project proposals planning, analyzing, designing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining systems. They serve as a resource for project managers within Information and Educational Technology (IET) and across campus.
Software Licensing
The Software Licensing Coordination group negotiates, purchases, and manages software distribution of select software packages for the benefit of UC Davis or the UC system.
DistAuth - Distributed Authentication Service
The DistAuth service provides a means by which access to protected campus Web-based information and services can be restricted. It confirms a user by identifying their UCD Login ID and Kerberos password before granting access to restrict sites and services.
Directory - LDAP
LDAP is a Lightweight Directory Access protocol that refers to a set of protocols for accessing information directories. LDAP makes it possible for almost any application running on virtually any computer platform to obtain directory information, such as email addresses. Because LDAP is an open protocol, applications need not worry about the type of server hosting the directory.
