UC Davis Announces iPhone Compatibility Results

(09/26/08)

Greetings,

In response to Apple's release of the iPhone 3G and the 2.x upgrade on Friday, July 11, Information and Educational Technology (IET) coordinated a campus-wide compatibility testing effort. The initial testing has been completed and the results, along with product information, links, and other useful information can be found on the Macintosh website http://iet.ucdavis.edu/macintosh/index.cfm under iPhone. We have decided that since more applications will become available for the iPhone over time, we are going to leave the testing open to anyone who would like to test applications as they become available. Since the compatibility matrix resides within Confluence testing volunteers may add and update information regarding their respective application(s). If you would like to test or suggest an application that is currently not on the website or as one becomes available, please send an email to ucdiphone@ucdavis.edu.

A big thank you to the many volunteers from campus who tested the wide variety of applications and services used on campus, and also to those who contributed in various other ways. They volunteered their time and experience for this project, and it was greatly appreciated! Thank you again.
