Recommended Hardware Solutions for Faculty and Staff

In the fall of 2001, the campus adopted a computer ownership expectation for students. To support that expectation, the Student Computer Ownership Workgroup developed a set of hardware specifications to help students and their families choose a computer that meets the campus expectation. The Student Computer Ownership Web site was developed to help disseminate information about the expectation as well as the recommended specs.

This year, in an effort to develop and disseminate a set of recommended specifications that best meet the needs of the entire campus community, the Computer Ownership Web site was redesigned to include a section for faculty and staff.

This new section is now available, includes recommended computer configurations for office systems, and is geared toward faculty and staff who may be responsible for purchasing computers for their departments or who are interested in purchasing a computer for themselves but are not sure where to begin.
