Rocky Frequently Asked Questions

Rocky is your AI assistant for everything Aggie - your personal, interactive guide to navigating all the ins and outs of UC Davis. For more information, see: https://iet.ucdavis.edu/aggie-ai/rocky.
You will need a UC Davis computing account to access the platform. Go to https://chat.ucdavis.edu. On the resulting window, click UC Login. On the next screen, log into your UC Davis computing account. You will be redirected to the chat window. Use the chat throughout your day.
Rocky is available to UC Davis and UC Davis Health students, faculty and staff. For UCDH, be sure to log in with your UC Davis credentials, not UC Davis Health credentials.

Rocky is one of the services available from Aggie AI.
Rocky runs on a large language model (LLM) derived from OpenAI (the makers of ChatGPT) but was especially trained on data sources specific to UC Davis. Moreover, it is continuously updated with new information, providing you with the latest updates from UC Davis (unlike other AI chat tools which may reference older information). When you use Rocky, your questions and your data will not be used to train other AI models.
Rocky is intended for the entire UC Davis community. Our teams are constantly optimizing its features and growing its user base. Rocky is available to UC Davis and UC Davis Health students, faculty and staff.
Rocky is not yet connected to personalized results and providing personal information won’t help it give better answers at this time. While it’s OK to provide Rocky with information you’d normally share with a classmate or general administrator at the University to get more accurate information, such as whether you are a UC Davis or UC Davis Health employee, putting anything more sensitive than that isn’t covered by the Rocky Terms and Conditions.
Do not use Rocky with protected health information, personally identifiable information, or other sensitive institutional information. In addition, large language models do not always produce accurate results. It is your responsibility to verify Rocky's answers.
Information that can be classified as P3 or P4 is not allowed when using Rocky. Other information that is not allowed includes:
- Social security numbers
- Health information
- Other sensitive personal information
- Sensitive institutional information
Please refer to the Aggie AI Terms for additional details, as well as the data protection levels (P1-P4) as outlined in IS-3.
As with all generative AI and large language models, Rocky could get things wrong. It’s been trained on University information and as a result, tends to be more accurate than other sources, but you cannot expect 100% accuracy. Rocky provides you with links and sources to verify its information. Please double check any important information.
Rocky can answer questions about UC Davis and UC Davis Health, pulling from publicly available information. When asking Rocky a question, it helps to give it context about your role. For example, "I am a UC Davis Health employee. How do I log into Zoom?" That way Rocky will provide you with more accurate answers.

- On the resulting window, hit the button that says UC Login.
- On the next screen, log into your UC Davis computing account. You will be redirected to the chat window.
UC Davis Health employees and students should use their UC Davis computing accounts, not health accounts.
Since Rocky uses single sign-on to authenticate, you’ll have to log out of your computing account to log out of Rocky. A logout button is on our roadmap.
