Eduroam is getting a new certificate on February 12, and you may get a prompt

If you want to keep using eduroam, the UC Davis wireless network, there’s an important update you may need to accept.

The campus will install a new electronic security certificate on eduroam Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. This means you may see a prompt on your phone or other device, asking you to accept the new certificate.

The certificate tells your devices it is connected to the network, and you should accept it if you want to stay connected. Experiences will vary depending on devices, model, and operating systems. Some devices will accept the certificate automatically.

See this Knowledge Base article about the certificate update for more information.

Certificates expire periodically. Information and Educational Technology (IET) schedules certificate updates every year in February. The guest wireless network at UC Davis is not impacted by this update.

If you have any doubts or questions about the certificate update, please contact your department tech support or IT Express at 530-754-HELP (4357).
