The Information Security Symposium at UC Davis, a popular source of ideas, new information, and networking for UC and other higher education security and compliance professionals, is now accepting proposals for the 2021 conference.

The virtual event, hosted by UC Davis, occurs June 15-16. Registration is complimentary this year.

This year’s theme is Adapt. Sessions will focus on:

• Managing and leading security 
• Risk and compliance (e.g., legal, policies, standards, etc.) 
• Lessons learned - working from home and remote teaching
• Research security (e.g., risk assessment, understanding CMMC, etc.)  
• Cloud security
• Security fundamentals  
• Diversity, equity, and inclusion in the security field  
• Data privacy and integrity
• Security operations
• Identity and access management

Propose a session by March 5

The symposium is seeking proposals for lectures, panel discussions, and hands-on labs focused on technical and non-technical topics related to information security and compliance. Lecture and panel discussions usually last 30 minutes to an hour, and hands-on labs last for two hours.
