National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a collaboration between the government and private industries to raise awareness about digital security and empower everyone to protect personal and institutional data from digital crimes.

This year, IET is raising awareness about topics that impact campus life and business. The content is tailored to specific audiences, such as all campus, students, or faculty and staff, and covers the following topics.

2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Month areas of focus  

• Multi-factor authentication: Duo is increasing security with Risk-Based Authentication for students and staff. 
• Credit card fraud protection: Helpful tips for Aggies to protect themselves against scammers and hackers.  
• Data classification: Helping faculty and staff understand how to classify data and why it’s so important to get it right.
• W-2 fraud protection: As bad actors increasingly target higher educational institutions; we’ve got tips to protect your information.
