SiteFarm Celebrates its 1,000th UC Davis Site!

The UC Davis SiteFarm team achieved a significant goal in March 2025: their 1,000th registered site!
As Systems Admin Nick Botto clicked the final button to direct their domain metro.ucdavis.edu to SiteFarm, he was unaware that their new site surpassed 1,000 in the SiteFarm registry. In the days before the big reveal at the March 14, 2025, Technology Support Program (TSP) meeting, Web Developer Guillermo Jiminez remembers how "Shawn DeArmond contacted me to ask questions about the site, and I thought something was wrong with it. At the TSP, I found out we were the 1,000th site along with everyone else!"
The Metro team was awarded 4 hours of free consultation time from the SiteFarm team. Guillermo was grateful: "It's a valuable resource to have available to us. I also make use of the SiteFarm Slack channel when I happen to get stuck."
Shawn DeArmond, SiteFarm leader, gives credit to his team in reaching this milestone. "All of us on the WebDev team are proud that we’ve built something being used by so many on campus. Here’s to the next thousand sites!" He is also noting that SiteFarm will soon be integrating AggieExperts, noting that SiteFarm will soon be integrating AggieExperts, improving view modes, upgrading to Drupal 11, and refreshing SiteFarm's UX this fall.
About metro.ucdavis.edu: Originally named ACL2, "Metro" is the staff-coined name for an administrative cluster of departments under College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) which includes the departments of Environmental Toxicology; Land, Air, and Water Resources; and Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology. The combined staff works to improve efficiency and equitable access to resources.
