Dear Aggie Community,
Each year, the impact report gives us a chance to step back and ask a bigger question: how is technology serving our students, faculty and staff? This question guided the work of Information and Educational Technology (IET) and the larger campus technology community in 2025-2026, and it's why we chose this year's theme, Technology in Service of Every Aggie: Our Path to a Digital Tomorrow. Whether someone is a new student logging into online storage for the first time, an instructor exploring teaching technologies, or a staff colleague adopting technology to work more efficiently, our commitment is to ensure technology enables and supports the entire UC Davis campus community.
This year's report is organized around six areas that, together, tell the story of how IET is putting technology in service of every Aggie:
- Teaching and Learning - how we harness the power of technology to facilitate and support academic success.
- Collaboration and Community - how we use technology to connect campus and foster professional growth in our community.
- Digital Risk and Cybersecurity - how we safeguard the university through awareness and proactive risk management.
- Delivering Technology at Scale - how we provide everyday digital tools and a robust infrastructure for thousands of Aggies.
- Strategy and Innovation - how we guide emerging and foundational technologies.
- Preparing for a Sustainable Future - how we build institutional resilience by streamlining crucial business operations and processes.
None of this happens without the people of IET and our partners across campus. I am thankful for their expertise and resilience, and I am confident that you will notice the spirit of curiosity, collaboration and responsibility that drives our work every day. I invite you to read on, explore the sections of this report, and see the many ways UC Davis is charting its own path to a digital tomorrow.
With gratitude,
Viji Murali
Chief Information Officer and Vice Provost of Information & Educational Technology (IET)
