Banner Upgrade Announcement

The Banner Student Information System is undergoing an upgrade from version 3 to version 5. The Banner System 5 upgrade will be taking place over the Veteran's Day Weekend, November 9, 2001 to November 13, 2001. This upgrade is being implemented for a number of reasons, not the least of which is so we can keep current on our ability to provide financial aid to students. While there are several new features that most users will find very useful, the new system does look and work somewhat differently than the current Banner. To help familiarize you with the new look and feel, we are offering both Banner 5 Orientation sessions and hands-on user sessions in the computer labs. We highly recommend that you attend the October 26th information meeting and, if appropriate, a lab session. For further details regarding the schedule for training and Banner upgrade timetable, please refer to the Registrar's Web site. Banner will be unavailable for staff and student use from 6 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2001 through to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2001. Important: Please note that Banner 5 requires that the Citrix software be upgraded (this is the software that allows users to connect to Banner). All Banner users will need to have their desktop machine brought up-to-date BEFORE the system upgrade.
