Campus Computer Rooms Test Early-Bird Hours

During the 2005 winter and spring quarters, IET-Computer Lab Management is testing the utilization of Early-Bird hours in two of their most used computer rooms. On Wednesday, January 5, The MU Station (177 MU) and 15 Olson began opening at 7:30 A.M Monday through Friday. This allows campus early birds to drop in and check their email, print that paper due at 8:00 A.M., or just explore the Web before heading off to classes. All other campus computer rooms continue to open at 8:00 A.M. At the end of Spring Quarter, IET-CLM will evaluate the ???Early-Bird??? utilization, and determine if these hours should be continued, or expanded in the future.

The MU Station has 5 iMac and 29 Dell workstations along with 2 laser printers; 15 Olson has 2 iMac and 7 Dell workstations, along with 2 laser printers. IET-CLM manages and maintains 14 computer rooms and more than 400 computers with a variety of current software, all with direct Ethernet connections to the Internet. A complete list of computer room locations, hours, software and hardware can be found at http://clm.ucdavis.edu/rooms.
