Campus Stepping Up Identity Theft Prevention Measures

In response to a new California law, and to increasing numbers of incidents of identity theft, a new campus directive was released. The directive strongly encourages campus units to take all appropriate measures to secure personal information. The campus has implemented a plan for notifying campus affiliates in the event that personal information is believed to have been obtained via a security breach. The directive and notification plan are available via the Identity Theft Prevention Web site, which has been developed in support of heightened efforts to prevent such incidents from occurring on campus and to assist campus community members in recovering from incidents in the event that they do occur.
