Come learn how new IT roadmap will benefit campus

The campus has scheduled a special public session on Jan. 29 to discuss the Administrative IT Services Roadmap, a project that promises to improve the coordination and governance of UC Davis administrative information technology services.

The meeting is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. in 1065 Kemper Hall.

The agenda includes a brief overview of the new process, plus a Q&A to discuss its details and goals. The roadmap should help reduce the duplication and complexity of administrative IT services, plus ensure more informed investments in IT projects at the central, campus, school and department levels.

The Campus Council for Information Technology is offering the "Dialogue with the Community" in response to interest from the campus administrative management group (ADMAN), and to engage other people on campus interested in the subject. The presenters are Mike Allred (Office of Administration), Lora Jo Bossio (Student Affairs), Kathy Olsen (Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences), and Dave Shelby (Information and Educational Technology).

All four are members of the IT Roadmap Steering Committee. The committee has been working on behalf of the Provost and the Council of Deans and Vice Chancellors for a year to develop the roadmap, based on an extensive series of consultations and discussions.

Everyone is welcome.
