The Campus Data Center, which houses servers that run applications like the UC Davis Web site, Banner, DaFIS, Geckomail, secure Web sites, and many others, will be upgrading to a new transformer on Saturday, August 19 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new transformer will allow the Data Center to house additional servers, including high-performance servers that support research efforts on campus, and accommodate the additional cooling systems they require.

During the eleven-hour upgrade, servers will be powered by generators and battery back-up units. No loss of service is expected; however, brief failures are possible.
