Deans, Vice Chancellors Discuss Proposed IT Projects

After two rounds of campus review, a list of twenty-nine information technology projects has been developed, discussed, and ranked by the Council of Deans and Vice Chancellors (CODVC). In early April, CODVC members identified a handful of those projects as priorities the campus should pursue during the next few years.
Included in this short list of projects are: the development of digital faculty portfolios (or Faculty Merit and Promotion System), an Electronic Research Administration System (for research proposals and grants), an Electronic Document Management System (for the routing, review, approval, and storage of documents), and additional measures to enhace the campus' IT security infrastructure.
For more information on the campus information technology planning efforts, see http://itstrategicplan.ucdavis.edu.
In April, the campus Computing Councils (AC4 and AdC3) submitted their recommendations to Provost Hinshaw on two of those projects (Faculty Merit and Promotion, and Electronic Research Administration Projects). See http://ac4.ucdavis.edu to access the Councils' recomemndations and supporting materials.
