Demand prompts second faculty series on teaching, learning and tech

Dick Walters' faculty workshop series on teaching, learning and technology, scheduled for the winter quarter, is proving so popular that he has added a second series.

The original series will meet on every other Tuesday starting Jan. 9, 2007. It can seat 15 people and already has commitments for 12. So Walters, an emeritus professor in the Department of Computer Science, will offer the second series on Wednesdays starting Jan. 10 in Room 1331 of Kemper Hall. The sessions will meet from 3 to 5 p.m., with a social hour afterwards.

Both series will last about two months. Topics will focus on the pedagogy of learning.

2007 is the last year Walters intends to offer these workshops. For more information, email him at
