Email scam alert

UC Davis has been the target of a new email scam this week. On Wednesday, November 05, campus email users began receiving email messages that appear to be from government (.gov) email addresses. The subject lines generally refer in some way to the recent presidential election and the body of the message includes some grammatical errors. Multiple variations of the message have been received, but each message includes a link to a Web page that hosts malware. Malware, short for "malicious software," is designed to gain access and damage computers without the owner's knowledge.

If you receive one of these messages, do not click on the link provided. Delete the message immediately.
