Email Virus Filtering To Take Effect Beginning July 8, 2002

The campus has purchased email anti-virus software that will help diminish the number of viruses transmitting themselves via email attachments. Over the course of the month of July each of the central campus email servers will begin scanning incoming and outgoing emails for known viruses. Whenever possible, the software will stop delivery of any virus-infected message, remove the virus from the email, and send a notification message to the apparent originator of that infected email message. Users should expect to start receiving these notification messages in July.
