Explore advanced audio-visual tech during campus showcase March 8

Information and Educational Technology is hosting a free audio-visual technology showcase on March 8. Anyone in education who uses A-V technology--or just wants to learn more about it--is invited to come talk shop, get ideas, discuss best practices, and see what's new in the field.

"No trip to Vegas or Florida is needed to explore the latest in A-V technology," says the 2016 UC Davis AV Vendor Showcase website. "We're bringing the trade show to UC Davis."

In addition to interested faculty, students and staff, organizers are inviting people from a range of specialties, from "A-V integrators and technical directors" to facility designers and architects, athletics directors and coaches, and sports and event venue managers. Students who want to explore careers in audio or video are especially welcome.

The lineup of booths includes a table with information about UC Davis Canvas, the learning management system that is replacing SmartSite at UC Davis.

IET's Academic Technology Services unit also invites anyone who attends the showcase to offer feedback about products and services they'd like ATS to integrate into its existing campus systems.

Registration is free, but required. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the ARC Pavilion. See details at the showcase website.
