Faculty Mentoring Faculty Program branches out from SmartSite

The Faculty Mentoring Faculty Program, which focused last year on introducing instructors to SmartSite, is expanding to include presentations on different subjects by academic star performers--people who will talk about their areas and answer questions during the weekly meetings.

The mentoring program offers faculty an ongoing opportunity to advise or learn from peers interested in instructional technology and innovative teaching. Some presentations will continue to address SmartSite, the course-management system that offers faculty, staffers and students new ways to teach, learn and work together online at UC Davis.

The change represents a return to 18-month-old FMFP's pedagogical roots, said program manager Andy Jones, a lecturer in the University Writing Program. All faculty are invited to attend. For more, visit FMFP's Web site.
