Information and Educational Technology will host Oracle Tech Day on March 8. The free event includes four hours of sessions on such topics as database security and developer productivity tools, plus a box lunch and snacks provided by Oracle Corp.
The event is intended for information technology managers and developers at UC Davis who oversee their own applications and databases. They may attend any or all of the 1-hour talks, which will be offered between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Kemper 1065, after sending an RSVP to Debi Lorraine at email@example.com.
"UC Davis has an Oracle site license, but we are not leveraging it as much as we could," said Lorraine, the supervisor of IET's Database Services and Support group. "Over the past few years, with turnover, newer developers don't come here knowing Oracle, and don't realize what a resource we have."
The agenda, available at the Database Services and Support website, includes managing unstructured data, developer productivity tools, database security, and database services offered by IET's Campus Data Center.
