IET Mediaworks Hosts City of Davis Webmaster

On Tuesday, December 10, IET Mediaworks will host a presentation by Seth Duffey, Webmaster for the City of Davis. Seth will be talking about The Firefighter Protective Clothing Tour Web site (http://www.ci.davis.ca.us/fire/pct/) that he designed and implemented using Flash. This dynamic Web site has gained national recognition for its presentation of text, audio, graphics, and video, and was recently the Macromedia ?Site of the Day.? The presentation will touch on the reasoning and decision making process behind the site development as well as getting into some of the technical aspects of this site. Seth Duffey has worked for the City of Davis Information Services division for 3 years. His background (besides Flash) includes HTML coding, database administration and ColdFusion. His recent work with Flash for the City of Davis Web site started with "virtual tours" such as the Fire Department tours. He is also working with Flash interacting with ColdFusion to dynamically display database query information on maps.
