IET posts schedule for winter break

Information and Educational Technology (IET) services and business units will operate on a limited schedule during the winter holiday season from Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010.

The university holidays are Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; Thursday, Dec. 31; and Friday, Jan. 1. The campus is also closed for furlough days Dec. 28, 29 and 30. Most IET operations will be closed for all those days. In addition:

  • The IT Express Computing Services Help Desk will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Dec. 21 to Dec. 23. It will close from Dec. 24 through Jan. 3. They can be reached at (530) 754-HELP (4357).
  • IET-Academic Technology Services will be closed to the public to focus on the SmartSite migration from Dec. 21-Jan. 3.
  • IET-Communications Resources will close to the public from Dec. 18 through Jan. 3. The department will still monitor the telecom network and make repairs, but will not process service orders. The automated campus phone directory will be available at (530) 752-1011.
  • Data Center Operations will close only from 7:30 a.m. Dec. 24 through 6 a.m. Dec. 26, and from 2 a.m. Dec. 31 through 6 a.m. Jan 2. At any time, to check the status of a major campus system--email, authentication, Banner, SmartSite, MyUCDavis, etc.--visit the campus network and server status page. (Outage notices will not be updated on the status Web site when Operations is closed, except during a campuswide emergency.)
