IET services post schedule for winter holiday

During the year-end holiday season, Information and Educational Technology (IET) consultants will provide support on a slightly modified schedule. A brief summary follows.

Faculty, students and staff who have questions about IET services, or who need computing assistance, are invited to call the IT Express Computing Services Help Desk at 530-754-HELP (4357).

  • Campus holidays: The four official closure days this year are Monday, Dec. 26; Tuesday, Dec. 27; Friday, Dec. 30; and Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. IET, and most other campus operations, will be closed.
  • Help: IT Express consultants will be available Dec. 23, 28 and 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 530-754-HELP (4357). You will also find answers to common questions about campus services in the self-help documentation at xbase.ucdavis.edu
  • Computer rooms: Most computer rooms operated by IET will close while faculty and students are away during the break (Dec. 10 through Jan. 8). The rooms in 163 and 182 Shields will be open Dec. 12-13 and Jan. 4-6 from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
  • Emergencies: Data Center staff will be available to address critical system or network issues, should any arise. As always, to check the status of major campus systems (e.g., email, wireless network, Banner, SmartSite and MyUCDavis); see the real-time status summary; or sign up to receive service notifications, go to status.ucdavis.edu

All IET services (except the computer rooms) will resume their customary business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.
