IET Talks Photoshop, MyUCDavis and Student Computing at Picnic Day

This year's Picnic Day took place on Saturday, April 12, 2003, and was attended by an estimated 8,000 people, mostly families interested in UC Davis. Despite heavy rains, approximately 200 people dropped in to IET's ?Digital Campus,? which included areas highlighting different aspects of student computing, in the Hart Hall computer room and media lab area. Computer company representatives with demonstration equipment were available for questions, and attendees had digital photos taken, which were immediately uploaded to the Web for later use in one of the tutorial sessions or printing at home. IET representatives also conducted presentations on student computing, the MyUCDavis Web portal, and how to use Adobe Photoshop. The Photoshop tutorial sessions were especially well-attended, as visitors used their previously taken digital photos to learn how to use the powerful image manipulation software.
