Learn more about teaching with tech, each Friday this fall
The Faculty Mentoring Faculty Program's fall series on teaching with technology is underway, with sessions ranging from "computationally ambitious teaching" and podcasting to YouTube and using Second Life to understand schizophrenia--a subject profiled Oct. 12 in Dateline.
The mentoring program exists to help faculty learn from, or advise, peers who are interested in instructional technology and innovative teaching. The speakers, said program manager Andy Jones, include award-winning instructors and new faculty who are experimenting with emerging instructional technologies and fresh approaches to teaching.
The sessions meet from noon to 1:30 on Fridays in the Surge II Conference Room. Register through the Teaching Resources Center calendar. Last-minute attendance is welcome if space is available; if interested, drop by Academic Technology Services at noon on Fridays to see if a session is full.
