Listproc, inactive email lists will be deleted as scheduled on Dec. 14

The migration of campus email lists and archives to Sympa is complete, which leaves just one last task: removing the old list software, Listproc. That will happen as scheduled on Dec. 14.

This final step includes the deletion of unused email lists and archives that have had no activity for at least a year. Information and Educational Technology emailed final reminders about the deletion to owners of inactive lists on Nov. 2.

In mid-December, IET will revise its email Web pages to reflect the end of Listproc. Owners of other pages that mention the list service should also update their pages and links.

Removing Listproc will finish a project that IET began in 2009 to upgrade the campus email list service. UC Davis has used Sympa for new lists since June, and migrated all active lists and archives from Listproc to Sympa starting in July.

Access the campus email list service at lists.ucdavis.edu. Please direct any questions about the service to the IT Express Computing Services Help Desk at 530-754-HELP (4357).
