'Lost' smartphone survey has warning for owners of mobile devices

If you lose your smartphone, the odds are that whoever finds it will "rummage through the phone looking for photos, emails and even private banking information," says a disturbing new Symantec survey reported March 8 on The Today Show and MSNBC.

Problems like the ones described in this survey are exactly why Information and Educational Technology recently began a campaign urging people to put a PIN on their smartphones.
