Mailing lists will be temporarily unavailable during Sympa upgrade April 15
Information and Educational Technology will upgrade Sympa, the campus email list service, during the next standard monthly maintenance window from 10 p.m. Friday, April 15, through 2 a.m. Saturday, April 16.
Mailing lists will not be available while the work is in progress. Any messages sent to a mailing list will be saved, and then distributed as usual once the work is complete.
IET has sent additional information about the upgrade to list owners, list administrators, and the campus technotices mailing list.
The upgrade from version 6.0.1 to 6.1.4 will fix bugs that cause production outages, among other improvements. Once the service resumes, most list users and administrators will not notice a difference in how Sympa works because the new version is similar to the current one.
To determine the status of the email list service at any time, visit the Campus Network and Service Status page and click on "email" in the "system status" display.
