Anti-virus vendors reported a new virus on Sunday that targets email addresses contained within the Windows Address Book. Do not open the email attachment of any message that has the following characteristics: Subject: new photos from my party! Body: Hello! My party... It was absolutely amazing! I have attached my web page with new photos! If you can please make color prints of my photos. Thanks! Attachment: www.myparty.yahoo.com (29,696 bytes) or myparty.photos.yahoo.com (28160 bytes). Symantec released an update on January 27 for this new virus http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/download.html. McAfee has released an additional file (Extra.dat) to temporarily respond to this new virus http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99332&. According to the McAfee web site, the signature for this new virus will be incorporated into the 4184 DAT file. Please ensure your anti-virus products are current with the most recent vendor updates. We are presently blocking email messages possessing a subject line that matches the W32.Myparty infected email.
