New Computer Classroom Opens
Conceived several years ago as a joint venture between the Division of Biological Sciences (DBS) and Information and Educational Technology (IET), the new computer classroom will provide almost half of its hours for DBS classroom use, and be managed by IET-Classroom Technology Services (IET-CTS). When not in use by DBS classes or other scheduled classes, the room will be available as an open access lab, similar to the other computer classrooms on campus managed by IET-CTS.
The room is equipped with 41 Dell Optiplex GX270 computers with 3Ghz-P4 processors, CD-RW/DVD ROM drives and 17" flat panel displays. Microsoft and Dell Computer Corporation donated 36 of the computer set-ups for the new facility.
