New Computer Classroom Opens in 93 Hutchison; Will be Largely Open Access During Spring Quarter 2003

Further meeting the growing computing needs of the campus, a new computer classroom opened recently in 93 Hutchison Hall. Thanks in part to a sizable grant of equipment from Dell Computer Corporation, a total of 33 new desktop PC's are now available for student, faculty and staff use. Although this computer room is designated as a classroom (meaning it can be reserved for classes), there are very few classes scheduled for Spring Quarter 2003, making it essentially an open access lab for the majority of the time. The 33 computers in 93 Hutchison are Dell Optiplex 260s, each with Pentium IV 2.4 GHz processors, 512MB RAM, 20GB Hard Drives, DVD/CD-RW Combo Drives, and 15" flat panel displays. For the hours and locations of 93 Hutchison and the other campus computer rooms, visit http://clm.ucdavis.edu/rooms/ or pick up a copy of the Student Computing 101 brochure at the Memorial Union Info Desk, the Bookstore Computer Shop, IT Express, or any of the computer rooms.
