New Virus Variant Distributed by Email
A new virus, possibly a Netsky variant, appears to be entering the campus email system. The infected message, often identified with a subject of ?delivery failure notice,? contains an executable file. While the message may appear to be sent from someone you know, the sender's email address is likely forged. It is strongly suggested this email attachment NOT be executed and, instead, the message be deleted. Please update your anti-virus product on a regular, if not daily, basis. We are researching this virus variant with the campus email anti-virus vendor.
