Two finalists named in search for new campus IT architect
The search for a new information technology architect for UC Davis has narrowed to two candidates for a final round of discussions: Russ Hobby, Internet2 technical architect at UC Santa Barbara; and Ken Weiss, business solutions architect for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.
Each candidate will speak in public forum on "Developing and Implementing an Identity Management Strategy for UC Davis"--Hobby on July 27, Weiss on July 30, each at 8:30 a.m. in MU II. Those discussions will be followed by small group sessions and an informal lunch with each candidate.
The IT architect, said Information and Educational Technology Vice Provost Pete Siegel, "analyzes, designs and deploys the UC Davis computing infrastructure architecture so it meets campus technical and business requirements and furthers the campus' mission of research, teaching, and public service."
The new IT architect will succeed Tom Arons, who plans to retire.
