Information and Educational Technology has named Paul Ver Wey acting operational manager of Academic Technology Services, the IET unit that provides educational technology services ranging from SmartSite to general campus computer rooms.

Ver Wey, manager of the ATS video production group, brings more than 15 years of experience in information technology at UC Davis. Liz Gibson, previously the director of ATS, resigned effective May 27. IET is recruiting a 50 percent position for a faculty director to lead ATS.

\034Ver Wey is highly regarded on campus as an outstanding listener who pays a great deal of attention to program quality and measurable excellence,\035 said Peter M. Siegel, campus chief information officer and vice provost for IET in an announcement released June 2. Ver Wey assumed his new duties June 1, and reports directly to Assistant Vice Provost Dave Shelby.
