What do you do with old files and email? 'Managing Your Records' has answers

It's easy to create records at UC Davis, but then what do you do with them?

Two upcoming sessions on "Managing Your Records" will provide guidance for faculty and staff who work with records at UC Davis, which means anything from job interview notes and grades, to research records, billing data, and everyday correspondence.

Topics include what constitutes a record, what to do with records, how long you need to keep them, formats you should use, and a subject that touches just about everyone: what you should do with your old email.

The schedule:

  • For staff: April 18, 3-4:30 p.m., Staff Learning Center, Hamilton Room
  • For faculty: April 19, 1-2:30 p.m., 136 Hoagland

Faculty and staff are welcome at either session, but the information will be tailored for each audience on their respective days.

UC Davis Public Records is presenting the programs, assisted by the Information Security unit in Information and Educational Technology. Light snacks will be served, and no RSVP is needed. If you have questions or comments, please contact publicrecords@ucdavis.edu.
