New students can get up to speed on standard campus technology, such as email, Wi-Fi, and Duo multi-factor authentication in the Technology Onboarding Checklist for New Students Knowledge Base article.
Phishing scams are on the rise, via text, phone, email and social media, often augmented by AI. 30% of all scams reported for ages 18-24 are employment scams or fraudulent job opportunities.
- Student Employees: Log in to UCPath (https://ucpath.ucdavis.edu/) and confirm your direct deposit information. It's best to type in the correct URL instead of depending on search results as they can be hijacked.
- Keep your password/passphrase, login information and authentication codes private. Do not share them via phone, text or email with anyone.
- Deny Duo (multi-factor authentication) requests you did not initiate or are not expecting.
- Use your UC Davis email only for university matters. Use a separate email for personal matters.
- Report suspicious messages to [email protected] (UC Davis campus) or [email protected] (UC Davis Health).

Alternative formats are available anywhere you can access a file, either from a dropdown menu or by clicking the Alternative Formats button. Download as a PDF, HTML, ePub, audio, electronic braille and more.

Training
Are you up to date on your UC Davis mandatory training requirements in the UC Learning Center? UC Davis employees, including student employees must complete training modules assigned to them by their due date. For campus employees, completion is required for the UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals to retain access to core digital services.
Email Lists or Listservs
This fall, to remain compliant with the updated policy on mailing lists or listservs, students can no longer be the primary owners of a UC Davis email list and need to identify a faculty or staff member as a sponsor.
- Go to https://lists.ucdavis.edu. For lists that you own, you will see ADMIN next to the list name.
- Locate a faculty or staff member who can serve as a sponsor for your list(s). Learn how to change list owners.
- Keep only the lists that you need and actively use. Delete the lists you no longer need.
