When eduroam gets a new certificate on Feb. 1, your phone might get a prompt
Heads up if you use eduroam, the UC Davis wireless network.
The campus will install a new electronic security certificate on eduroam at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1. This means you might see a prompt on your phone or other wireless device sometime after then, asking you to accept the new certificate.
The certificate tells your device it’s connecting to eduroam, and you should accept the certificate (if you have doubts, contact your department tech support or IT Express). Experiences will vary depending on device, model, and operating system. Some devices will accept the certificate automatically. See this campus reference article for more information.
Certificates expire periodically, and for the past several years Information and Educational Technology schedules certificate updates every year in February.
