Digital Divisions, Digital Multiplications: SITT 2024 Registration and Lineup Are Now Live!

The lineup for the 2024 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) is now live and features exciting presentations and discussions around new technology, inclusive teaching and learning practices, and artificial intelligence (AI) use in the classroom.

At this year’s SITT, UC Davis faculty and staff will share two half-days' worth of live online presentations on the mornings of September 12 and 13, 2024. The theme is “Digital Divisions, Digital Multiplications,” and according to TheWheel, it “…spotlights not only the socio-economic disparities that result in our students’ past and current unequal access to learning technologies and resources, but also the guidance necessary for our students to use these tools effectively in the pursuit of their goals at the university and in their lives.”

SITT agenda and speakers

The list of speakers and the agenda is now live on The Wheel. Dr. Andy Jones, Academic Associate Director of Academic Technology Services (ATS), will welcome attendees at the start of each day. He will also do a poetry reading at the end of day one. Presenters include a blend of faculty, staff, and graduate students. They will present six live talks on the following topics: generative AI, accessibility, online and hybrid courses, inclusive learning, student presentations, and growth mindset with educational technology.

In addition to live events, SITT 2024 will also feature eleven on-demand faculty talks and several interviews. Links to on-demand content will be posted to the SITT 2024 webpage.

Who can attend SITT?

SITT 2024 is free and open to all UC Davis faculty, staff, and graduate students—not just those directly involved in classroom activities.
