For IT Community
UC Tech is an annual technology conference hosted by the University of California (UC) system to promote innovation and engagement within the Information Technology (IT) community. This year, UC Davis and UC Davis Health will be co-hosting the 42nd UC Tech Annual Conference in Davis and Sacramento on October 27-29, 2024. Canvas and Gradescope: Stay Secure with Duo Multi-Factor Authentication
For Students and Instructors
When accessing UC Davis Canvas or Gradescope using your Central Authentication Service (CAS) ID and passphrase, members of the campus community will now need to verify their identity using Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA). This change to a two-step login process protects the campus technology environment and your personal data.
Duo Risk-Based Authentication: High-Level Data Protection
For Students, Staff, and Faculty
To protect you and your data from cybersecurity threats, UC Davis is implementing a new login security feature this November, called Duo risk-based authentication (RBA).
Members of the campus community will continue logging in to university systems as you do today, using Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA).
If Duo determines an authentication attempt is suspicious or poses higher risk, RBA will escalate security measures by requiring a more secure form of verification. This typically involves a secure pin where you will be prompted to enter a 6-digit code, displayed on the webpage, into your Duo mobile app.
- If you are planning to go abroad in the future, this change is especially important to note.
- For authentication issues, contact IT Express.

Zoom Phone: Campus Phone Service through the Zoom App
For Staff and Faculty

Web Accessibility Training: Fostering Digital Equity
For SiteFarm content editors with publishing abilities
To advance accessible web content at UC Davis and create an inclusive experience for all members of the campus community, a new UC Davis web accessibility training for SiteFarm content editors is now available in the UC Learning Center.
The training consists of one required module, Introduction to Web Accessibility, that should take approximately 45 minutes to complete. The deadline to complete the required training is December 31, 2024.
- There are 10 additional modules, which are strongly recommended. The entire training program should take approximately three hours to complete.
- For more information, see the Web Accessibility Training FAQs.
