Learn to Hook your Laptop to a Projector This session will introduce instructors to the media cabinet installed in every general assignment classroom, and show how to use it to project from a laptop. It will include hands-on practice; bring a laptop.

Record and Podcast your Lectures
This introductory training tutorial will walk instructors through how to successfully record and podcast their lectures. It will include both an equipment demo and a "hands-on" session to learn how to upload recordings to podcasting course pages.

Getting Started with SmartSite
SmartSite is the new UC Davis course management system. These sessions can help instructors get a jump on spring quarter by using SmartSite to set up course assignments, an email list, tests and quizzes, a grade book, and other tools in advance--and even set components to time-release as appropriate. No RSVP required.

SmartSite Jumpstart Drop-in Clinic
Get help setting up your course site and learn about the many functions in SmartSite. Staff from IET-Academic Technology Services and the Teaching Resources Center will be on hand to help with both technical and pedagogical questions. Come at your convenience and stay as long as you wish. Open to faculty, staff, graduate students, and teaching assistants. No RSVP required.

Faculty Mentoring Faculty Program
During the school year, a number of faculty offer peer-focused presentations on successful teaching practices, instructional technology, and pedagogical innovation. These weekly meetings in Surge II are informal, collegial, and supportive. They are purposefully scheduled to take place at noon on Friday when instructors might have time to take a lunch break (brown bags and carry-out are welcome), and make new friends and connections with faculty from other disciplines.
