TechNews redesigns Web site, adds features

TechNews, the online service that offers news and information about developments in UC Davis campus technology, has redesigned its Web site. It now sports a cleaner look and has gained new elements, including a "featured story" section and a short explanation of each story posted.

TechNews, much like the printed newsletter IT Times, carries general information about campus technology for staff, faculty and students. Topics range from email system changes, and training sessions for SmartSite, to security news and innovative uses of technology in teaching or research. The service focuses on UC Davis and often carries information not easily available anywhere else.

TechNews also contains an archive of campus tech stories dating to 1999.

TechNews is produced by Information and Educational Technology. Stories can be read at the site, through an RSS feed or other links, or through a free email of headlines sent every Monday morning (available on request).

The new look debuted last week. For more information, or to comment on the service or the new site, please contact Bill Buchanan, senior writer and editor in IET, at wrbuchanan@ucdavis.edu.
