Thinking About Requesting Course Recording?
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING REQUESTS FOR SPRING QUARTER HAS PASSED.Student Course Recording is intended to assist faculty who are not already in lecture-capture-enabled classrooms with the recording of their lectures, discussions, and/or lab sessions so that recordings can be shared with students who miss class due to personal or family illness.
Already Requested Course Recording?
If you have already submitted your request for recording services, here is what you can expect:
- We will let you know once we identify a student for your course. If we are unable to find a student, we will let you know and can talk with you about alternatives.
- Once a student has been identified, we will hire and provide them with basic training in audio/video recording using a mobile device such as a phone or laptop.
- We will then send an introductory email to both of you.
- After receiving the introductory email, both you and the student are encouraged to connect to work out the details such as where the student should sit and/or place the recording device, how you would like to receive recording links or files, and any other details that may be helpful.
In most cases, students will provide you with links to the recording. This short video shows our recommended method for sharing those links with the rest of your students, plus a couple of alternative methods. If you have elected another method for your students to share the recordings with you, you will receive separate instructions for that.
