UC Davis transfer students now get the full “new Aggie” experience during Aggie Day, the university’s annual open house event for new students, thanks to a new, innovative tech solution. For years, UC Davis held two Aggie Day celebrations, a larger, more robust one in April for first-year students and a smaller gathering in May for transfer students. The scheduling divide was driven by the transfer evaluation process, which took longer to complete than first-year admissions.  

The Information Security Symposium, held May 12-13, 2026, attracted 358 attendees and featured some outstanding presentations. The event was successful overall, covering current industry events, trends, and best practices for the cybersecurity community.

In Information and Educational Technology (IET), staff can expand their skillset and explore new career opportunities without having to step into a new role or switch departments. It’s possible through the Stretch Assignment Self-Service Program—a flexible framework designed to support short-term, skill-building projects outside an employee’s day-to-day role.

The program was designed by volunteers in the IET Staff Advisory Committee, looking for a way to convert survey feedback into a sustainable pathway for career growth and development.
