Attention, faculty: Learn about UC Davis Canvas at ‘boot camp’ Sept. 13-14

Faculty can get a helpful introduction to UC Davis Canvas during a special “Canvas boot camp” in 75 Hutchison Sept. 13-14.

The sessions are intended for instructors who will teach with the new learning management system (LMS) this fall, although all UC Davis faculty are welcome. There’s no cost to attend.

For both new and advanced users

The program includes three, repeated half-day sessions on the basics, plus one session on advanced uses of Canvas.

2017 Information Security Symposium sets dates, seeks volunteers

Organizers of the next UC Davis Information Security Symposium have announced the dates: June 20-21, 2017. Now they’re looking for volunteers to help plan the conference.

This every-other-year event, which usually sells out, presents two days of lectures, labs and discussions on topics involving privacy, information, computer and network security. It attracted more than 300 technical professionals and administrative managers from all over the University of California in 2015, and is adding capacity for 2017.
